The game, as expected for a cup semi-final, was played very competitively by both teams. Players from both sides going at it intensely from the first minute. SFC broke the deadlock in the second half courtesy of a Fazrul Nawaz goal. 1-0 SFC. Lions then equalised before Fazrul doubled his tally and SFC regained control of the match. With SFC leading 2-1 with 10 minutes to play Lions won a corner. Jostling at the near post between two players unfortunately led to SFC being reduced to 10 men. Lions quickly seized the initiative and duly equalised making it 2-2. Making their extra man count and with SFC legs tiring, Lions then won another corner that saw them extend their lead 3-2. With just a few minutes on the clock another incident took place in the middle of the pitch that resulted in SFC being reduced to 9 men. Thank you to all three officials for doing a great job in trying circumstances.
